A Hot Time in Northern Vermont

Looking West towards Brousseau Mountain
Sunny and hot at Averill Lake this past week.  With the air temperature in the mid 80’s, the humidity at near 100% and the lake water temperature at 76 degrees, it was a good week to air out the cottage, drag the docks into the water, clean up the debris from the winter and enjoy the summer weather.  It doesn’t get any more summery than this in Northern Vermont.  The stiff wind, alternatively from the south and the west, made the heat and humidity a lot more comfortable.  The water was perfect for swimming.
Branches from one of the yellow birch trees came down this winter.  Lots of wood cutting still left to do. But that means wood for the stove when cooler weather sinks down from Canada.
